To Set Up a Dial Up Connection in Windows XP
Below is a step by step guide on how to create a dial up
connection
to Linkdata using Windows XP.
1.
Click on "Start," then "Control Panel" (If you have your
windows configured to "classic" view, then you will need to click on
"settings" to see the "Control Panel" option)

2. Double-click on "switch to classic view" in the top left corner.
Doing this will
switch the view from figure 2. to figure 3.

3. Click on "Network
Connections" button. Now, click on the "Create a new connection"
button at the top of the left pane (figure 4).

4. The following screen
will appear, prompting you to create a new connection. Click "Next."

5. Choose the "Connect
to the Internet" option and then select "Next."

6. Choose the "Set up
my connection manually" option and click "Next." (Figure 7)

7. Enter "Linkdata" in as the ISP name and click "Next."

8. Type in the phone number
appropriate for your area and then click "Next."

9. Enter your username (the
first part of your @linkd.net or @symphonytel.com email address) and your password, then check the
boxes as shown below (Figure 10). Click "Next."

"Finish" after checking the box that says "add a shortcut to my
desktop."

12) is an example of the dial up screen. You can prompt this by opening the
Internet Explorer icon (looks like a big e) or by double clicking on the
"Linkdata" icon on your desktop.
